Professor Sherman Rogers' ’76 new book The African American Entrepreneur: Then and Now, continues to receive various accolades, including the Howard University Faculty Award for Scholarship and Creativity and the Howard University’s Institute for Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Innovation (ELI) "Faculty Entrepreneur of the Year" Award for his entrepreneurial efforts and support of ELI. The book is available for purchase at www.amazon.com, www.barnesandnoble.com, www.booksamillion.com, www.abc-clio.com/products, and other online booksellers.

HUSL Alum Kevin P. Chavous was recently sworn in as the new Board Chair of the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO) during the organization’s tenth anniversary celebration, Symposium 2010, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Orlan Johnson ’87 was nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as the Chairman of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).

Congressman Gregory Meeks (D-NY) ’78, was honored at the 143rd Howard University Charter Day Dinner for his extraordinary accomplishments in the fields of Law and Public Service.
